Essential Travel Information for the United States
Visitors must know and understand the conditions when applying for a Visa to USA.
The Visa Waiver Program, commonly known as the Electronic System for Travel Authorization (ESTA), permits citizens of 39 countries to enter the United States visa-free for up to 90 days. Most of these nations are from the European Union, followed by the United Kingdom, Australia, New Zealand, Japan, Taiwan, South Korea, and Singapore.

90 Day Visits With ESTA
Know that your 90-day period begins as soon as you step foot on US soil, including Hawaii, Puerto Rico, and other US territories.
The ESTA application is only necessary for air and cruise ship arrivals. It is unnecessary for land or local ferry crossings, such as between Vancouver, British Columbia, and Washington State.
The ESTA is valid for a maximum of two years. You may make an unlimited number of journeys to the United States, so long as each stay does not exceed 90 days.
ESTA Visa Waiver Process
The ESTA is significantly less expensive than the standard tourist visa, and the application form may be completed in about 20 minutes. Although you can apply for your ETSA any time before boarding your aircraft, you should do it at least 72 hours in advance.
Have your ESTA and permission number on hand during departure, as Customs will need them during check-in.
If you plan to remain in the United States for more than 90 days, or if you do not qualify for the ESTA program, you will require a visa.

If you wish to remain in the United States for a more extended time, or if your nationality is not included in the ESTA program, you will need to consider additional US tourist visas, primarily the B-2 Visa (tourist visa).
These visas are typically significantly more expensive than the ESTA (about $160-$180 for many nations), but unlike the ESTA program, the process is a bit more complex, and there is no standardized set of qualifications as they vary by nationality.

Who Can Visit the USA Without a Visa?
The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) in cooperation with the State Department administers the Visa Waiver Program (VWP), which enables nationals of 40 countries to visit the United States for up to 90 days for business or on vacation without obtaining a visa. In exchange, the 40 nations must allow American citizens and nationals to visit them visa-free for a comparable period of time for business or tourism. The VWP has developed into a comprehensive security collaboration with several of America’s closest allies since its founding in 1986. To identify and deter terrorists, severe criminals, and other nefarious actors from entering the United States, the VWP employs a risk-based, multi-layered strategy.
Visitors from Canada, Israel, the Marshall Islands, Micronesia, Palau, and nations participating in the U.S. Visa Waiver Program (apart from Croatia and Poland) are permitted a 30-day stay without a visa.
