  • Foreign nationals with lawful long-term residence in Ukraine
  • Spouses of Ukrainian citizens and other qualifying applicants under the citizenship law
  • Applicants able to meet the language, history and constitution requirements (subject to exemptions)

  • Recognition of and respect for the Constitution and laws of Ukraine
  • Continuous lawful residence in Ukraine as required by law
  • Sufficient lawful income and knowledge of the Ukrainian language
  • Pass the required examinations (constitution, history, language), unless exempt
  • Undertaking to terminate previous foreign citizenship within the statutory period

How to apply

  • Submit the application and documents to a territorial division of the State Migration Service
  • Provide passport, proof of lawful residence and income, with legalised translations
  • Sit the required examinations where applicable
