How to apply

Visa-exempt travellers do not lodge a visa application before travel. Entry is granted at the border on presentation of a valid passport and the standard entry conditions, provided the traveller is of good character and health, and holds no outstanding migration fine or re-entry ban.

  • Confirm your nationality is covered by an exemption and check the maximum stay that applies to your group before you travel
  • Complete the official online declaration through the Customs Authority system before arrival (it can be submitted up to three days ahead of travel)
  • On arrival, present yourself for immigration clearance at an official point of entry
  • Show your passport together with proof of funds and onward travel if requested, and have the entry recorded by the immigration officer
  • Do not overstay the exempt period — apply to extend or change status through the Immigration Service before it expires if you need to stay longer
