Timor-Leste Visa Eligibility
How nationality, purpose and entry point determine whether you are visa-free, eligible for a visa on arrival, or need to apply in advance.
Important
Eligibility for entry to Timor-Leste is decided first by nationality. Citizens of the Schengen Area may visit visa-free for 90 days in any 180-day period, and nationals of Indonesia, Malaysia, Singapore and Thailand for up to 30 days for tourism. Diplomatic, official and service passport holders and accredited UN staff also have exemptions.
Everyone else needs a visa matched to their purpose — tourism, transit, business, work, study, family reunification or residence. Standard conditions apply to most routes: a passport valid at least 6 months, proof of sufficient funds and accommodation, and evidence of onward or return travel.
