How you apply for a Timor-Leste visa depends on your nationality, your point of entry and the type of visa. Many visitors can obtain a tourist or transit visa on arrival at Dili International Airport or Dili Sea Port, paying the fee in US dollars cash at the border post.

Travellers arriving at a land border generally must obtain a Visa Application Authorization in advance and present it to the immigration officer on arrival. Longer-stay visas (work, study, business Class II, and residence) are lodged in person at the Immigration Service headquarters in Vila Verde, Dili, or at a Timor-Leste embassy or consulate before travel. Application forms are published on the official Immigration Service website.
