Most Timor-Leste visa and permit applications require a common core of documents: a travel document valid for at least 6 months, a recent passport photo (3x4cm), proof of sufficient funds and accommodation, and evidence of onward or return travel.

Longer-stay and residence routes add a medical certificate confirming good health and a criminal record certificate from the country of origin, along with purpose-specific papers — an employment contract for work visas, a school declaration for students, or consular-certified evidence of family ties for family reunification.
