Requirements

  • Evidence of genuine onward travel to a third country and departure within 72 hours
  • Proof of funds: US$100 per entry or US$50 per day, waivable with a local sponsor
  • Good health and character; compliance with any previous visa conditions

How to apply

  • On arrival at an official border post with Immigration Service presence (no form needed)
  • In advance at a Timor-Leste embassy or consulate (required if previously refused entry or with outstanding fines)
  • Extensions granted only in exceptional cases such as medical or transport emergencies
