Who it is for

Requirements

  • Travel document valid for at least 6 months with an unused page
  • Completed arrival declaration
  • Proof of sufficient funds: US$100 per entry plus US$50 for each day of stay, or a sponsor's letter guaranteeing accommodation and meals
  • Return or onward ticket / proof of means of departure
  • Passport photo (3x4cm) and signed application form for advance applications

What you can do

  • Enter for tourism and family visits for up to 30 days
  • Apply for one 30-day extension in-country
  • Cannot take up employment or any professional activity

How to apply

  • Air/sea arrivals at Dili: apply and pay US$30 on arrival at the border post
  • Land border arrivals (most nationalities): obtain a Visa Application Authorization in advance, then present it on arrival
  • Alternatively apply in advance at a Timor-Leste embassy or consulate
