Who it is for
- Non-citizens visiting for tourism, holidays or visiting friends and relatives
- Nationals of visa-required countries who must apply before travel
- Visa-exempt nationals (including EU passport holders) who may enter without a prior visa
Requirements
- Passport valid for the intended stay
- Confirmed accommodation / hotel reservation and return or onward ticket
- Proof of sufficient funds (e.g. bank statement)
- Completed and signed visa application form and two passport-size photos (for visa-required nationals)
What you can do
- Tourism, sightseeing and social/leisure visits
- Stay up to the period granted, not exceeding six months in a calendar year
- You may not take up employment or study on a tourist visa
How to apply
- Check whether your nationality is visa-exempt on the PIO visa requirements page
- If a visa is required, apply through a Mauritian diplomatic/consular mission, an Air Mauritius office, or by email to piovisa@govmu.org as a last resort
- Apply at least one month before travel; visas are issued as far as practicable within 12 working days
