Who it's for

Non-EU nationals able to make and maintain a substantial qualifying investment in the Luxembourg economy under one of the defined categories.

Requirements

  • Valid passport
  • A qualifying investment under one of the defined categories (business, management structure or deposit)
  • Ministerial approval of the investment (Economy or Finance) before the residence application
  • Commitment to maintain the investment (and, for a new business, create jobs) for the required period
  • Temporary authorisation to stay granted before entry

  • Reside in Luxembourg on the basis of the qualifying investment
  • Choose among the investment categories (existing/new business, management structure, or financial deposit)
  • Renew the permit while maintaining the investment
  • Apply for family reunification once resident

How to apply

Obtain ministerial approval of the intended investment from the relevant minister (Economy for business investments; Finance for management structures and deposits).

Submit the temporary authorisation to stay application to the General Department of Immigration from your country of origin, and obtain a Type D visa if required.

After arrival, file the declaration of arrival within 3 days, complete the medical examination, and apply for the residence permit within 3 months.
