Appointments and biometrics for a Lithuania visa application
How to book an appointment and give biometrics for a Lithuania national visa or residence permit, in person via MIGRIS.
Important
For Lithuania's national long-stay routes, you first submit your application electronically in MIGRIS, then attend an in-person appointment to be identified and to provide biometric data (a facial photograph and fingerprints). Abroad, this is done through Lithuania's appointed external service provider, VFS Global; inside Lithuania it is done at a Migration Department division.
The external service provider gives information, receives applications and documents and collects biometrics, but it does not decide the application - that is done by the Migration Department.
Booking an appointment
- Appointments at VFS Global branches are booked only through MIGRIS, from your personal account, using 'Book appointment' once the status shows 'Submitted to external service provider'.
- VFS Global operates offices in a network of countries; any foreign national can apply at a VFS office regardless of residence.
- In Lithuania, appointments to lodge documents and biometrics are made through the Migration Department's divisions.
Giving biometrics
- Attend in person with your original documents so your identity can be verified.
- Biometric data collected includes a facial image and fingerprints.
- Applicants must attend in person - including minors from the age of 2.
