A work-and-residence permit for people offered a job in an occupation currently experiencing a documented labour shortage in Denmark.

Who it's for
Non-EU/EEA/Swiss nationals with a job offer in a shortage occupation. The Higher Education list covers roles needing a degree (e.g. certain engineers, IT specialists, health professionals); the Skilled Work list covers vocational/trade occupations.
Requirements
- A job offer in an occupation on the relevant current Positive List
- Educational or vocational qualifications matching the listed occupation
- Salary and employment terms customary for that job in Denmark
- Any authorisation required to practise a regulated profession (e.g. health-sector authorisation)
What you can do
- Live and work in Denmark in the qualifying occupation
- Bring accompanying family who receive their own permits and can work
- Apply for a job-seeking permit if the job ends (for higher-education-based permits)
- Build time toward permanent residence
How to apply
Confirm your occupation is on the current Positive List on nyidanmark.dk, then apply to SIRI online. Employer and employee complete their respective parts. A fee applies and biometrics are recorded at a mission or SIRI branch. Where the profession is regulated, obtain the necessary Danish authorisation first.
