Fees for a Denmark visa application
Denmark's national residence-permit fees are set per route and updated yearly; the figures below are the published 2026 rates in Danish kroner.
Important
Denmark charges a case-processing fee for most national residence-permit applications. The amount depends on the route and on whether the case is handled by SIRI (the Danish Agency for International Recruitment and Integration) or by the Danish Immigration Service. Fees are set in Danish kroner (DKK) and revised each year, so always confirm the current figure on the official fee-overview page before paying.
The fee is normally paid before or at the moment you submit the application, and an application can be rejected if the correct fee is not paid. Some categories are exempt from fees; the fee page notes the circumstances in which you are normally not charged.
Work and study routes (SIRI), 2026 rates
- Pay Limit / Positive List / Fast-track / researcher and other main work schemes: DKK 6,810.
- Start-up Denmark: DKK 3,060.
- Work permit during the job-seeking period: DKK 840.
- Study permits, PhD, and job-seeking after studies: DKK 3,060.
Family and permanent residence, 2026 rates
- Accompanying family members (SIRI): DKK 3,080; au pairs / interns (SIRI): DKK 4,305.
- Family reunification (Immigration Service): DKK 8,490 first application, DKK 5,435 extension.
- Permanent residence on work/study basis (Immigration Service): DKK 7,570.
- Permanent residence on family-reunification, asylum or religious-worker basis: DKK 4,970.
Other fees
- Appeal of a decision: DKK 1,040; re-opening a case: DKK 1,040.
- Replacement residence card if lost or damaged: DKK 1,375.
- No fee is charged for a re-entry permit.
