Documents you need for a Qatar visa

Required documents vary by route but generally include a valid passport, proof of purpose (booking, contract, acceptance letter or relationship), and — for residence — a medical examination.

Important

This information is for general guidance only. Meeting the requirements does not guarantee your application will be approved.

For visitor entry, the core documents are a passport valid for at least three months from arrival, a confirmed onward or return ticket, and, for some nationalities or the tourist visa, a confirmed hotel booking. Compulsory health insurance may also be required.

For a work residence permit, documents centre on the employer sponsorship and an attested employment contract, followed by a medical examination and fingerprinting after arrival. Family residence applications require passports, Qatar IDs, proof of relationship (marriage and birth certificates), a salary certificate and proof of accommodation.

Student applicants provide an acceptance/confirmation letter from their college or university, proof of ability to pay tuition, a valid passport and a health check. Permanent-residency and investor routes additionally require proof of eligibility — such as property ownership documents — plus background and medical checks.
