Qatar delivers visa and residency services through a set of official digital platforms — Hayya for entry permits, and Hukoomi plus the Metrash2 app for residence and government services.

Hayya (the 'Hayya to Qatar' website and app) is Qatar's central digital gateway for visitor entry permits. Introduced around the FIFA World Cup and retained afterwards, it lets travellers apply for entry-permit categories such as the Tourist Visa (A1) and GCC Resident Visa (A2), and handles related services like vehicle pre-registration.

For people living in Qatar, the Hukoomi e-government portal and the Ministry of Interior's Metrash2 app are the main channels for residence permits, Qatar ID services, family applications, visa inquiries and renewals. The Ministry of Labour provides employer-facing services such as recruitment approvals and employment-contract attestation.

Together these platforms mean most Qatar visa and residency transactions can be started online, though some steps — such as the medical examination and biometrics for residence permits — must still be completed in person. Because rules and services can change without notice, the official portals are the authoritative source.
