Who it is for

  • Foreign residents who meet the residency and legal conditions of Law 1683
  • Spouses of Dominican nationals (naturalisation by marriage)

Requirements

  • More than two years of residency and a guarantee letter deposited with the DGM (ordinary route)
  • Recent 2x2 colour photographs
  • Certificate of no judicial record from the Attorney General and an apostilled original birth certificate
  • Apostilled marriage certificate (and Spanish translation where needed) if applicable
  • Pass the Spanish-language evaluation on Dominican culture, geography and history

How to apply

  • Submit the application and documents to the Ministry of Interior and Police
  • Pass the knowledge evaluation in Spanish
  • Await the naturalisation decree issued by the Executive Power (typically at least three months)
  • Take the oath and pay the fee
