How to Apply for a Chad Visa

Since May 2026, almost all Chad visas must be applied for online through the official evisa.td portal — this is how the process works.

Important

This information is for general guidance only. Meeting the requirements does not guarantee your application will be approved.

Chad launched its electronic-visa portal, evisa.td, in December 2024, and from May 2026 online application became mandatory for all visa categories except diplomatic and courtesy visas. Visas issued outside the official platform no longer allow entry into Chad.

You apply by creating an account on evisa.td, completing the online form with your passport, contact, occupation and travel details, uploading the required documents, and paying the fee online. The portal advises applying at least seven days before travel, and you cannot apply more than 90 days before your planned entry date. Chad does not offer visa on arrival, so approval must be obtained before departure.

Steps

  • Confirm whether your nationality needs a visa (visa-exempt travellers do not apply)
  • Create an account on evisa.td
  • Complete the online application and upload documents
  • Pay the fee online
  • Receive the eVisa by email and carry a copy for entry
  • Register with the police after arrival
