How to Apply for a Belarus Visa
The main ways to enter Belarus - visa-free, e-visa, or a visa from an embassy - and the basic steps for each.
Important
How you enter Belarus depends on your nationality and purpose. Eligible European citizens can enter visa-free by road or rail, many nationalities can enter visa-free by air for up to 30 days, nationals of 67 countries can apply online for an e-visa, and everyone else applies for a visa at a Belarusian embassy or consulate.
For an e-visa, you register on the official E-Pasluga portal (e-pasluga.by), complete the application under the e-visa service code, pay by card, and receive the visa within 7 calendar days. For a consular visa, you submit an application form, passport, photo, medical insurance and visa support documents to a Belarusian mission; decisions are normally made within 5 working days (2 for urgent applications).
Choose your route
- Check whether your nationality qualifies for visa-free entry or the e-visa on the MFA site
- If not, identify the correct visa type (B transit, C short-term, or D long-term)
- Gather the visa support documents required for your purpose
