Who Needs a Visa for Belarus
Whether you need a visa depends on nationality, purpose and how you arrive - by air, land or rail.
Important
Citizens of 38 European states can enter Belarus visa-free through road and rail border crossings (up to 30 days, or 90 days for Poland, Lithuania and Latvia), while a broader list of nationalities can enter visa-free by air for up to 30 days provided they arrive and depart through a Belarusian airport. Nationals of 67 countries who are not visa-free can instead use the e-visa.
Visa-free and e-visa routes apply only to holders of ordinary passports and do not cover diplomatic or service passports. Flights to or from Russia are treated as internal flights and are excluded from the airport visa-free regime. Longer stays for work, study, family or settlement require a long-term visa and a residence permit regardless of nationality.
