Who it is for

Requirements

  • A valid, current Permit to Enter and Reside
  • Extension application on Form 4
  • Continued evidence of the qualifying purpose (work, business, family, etc.) and of good health and character
  • For stays beyond one year: medical (Form 7), radiological (Form 8) and police reports

How to apply

  • Apply to extend before the current permit expires using Form 4
  • Provide updated supporting documents and pay the applicable extension fee
  • Where more than three extensions in five years are needed, a national-interest certification by the Minister is required
