Requirements

  • You need a transit visa only if you intend to leave the airport while passing through Suriname; travellers who stay airside and do not clear immigration do not need a visa or the Entry Fee.
  • The visa is strictly for transit to a third country — it does not permit tourism, business, work or study in Suriname.
  • You must hold a confirmed onward or return ticket to your next destination.
  • You must already hold any visa or entry document required by the onward country you are travelling to.
  • Your passport must be valid for at least six months beyond your date of arrival in Suriname.
  • Tourist cards and transit documents can no longer be obtained on arrival at the airport, so the visa must be arranged online before you travel.

  • A confirmed onward or return flight ticket showing your name

  • No. Travellers who remain airside and do not pass through immigration do not need a transit visa and do not pay the Entry Fee. You only need the transit visa if you intend to leave the airport while in transit.
