Who needs a visa for Suriname
Nationals of CARICOM states and many visa-exempt countries can enter without a visa; a defined list of nationalities must obtain an e-visa or e-tourist card in advance.

Suriname operates a three-tier system. Citizens of Caribbean Community (CARICOM) member states enjoy the most favourable treatment. A further group of countries has unilateral visa abolishment for tourism and family visits for up to 90 days, but travellers in this group must pay an online entry fee before arrival. A defined list of nationalities must obtain an e-visa or e-tourist card before travelling.
As of 1 May 2023 the Government reintroduced a visa requirement for tourism and family visits for nationals of a specific set of countries, including (per the official announcement) Afghanistan, Angola, Bangladesh, Cameroon, Cuba, the Dominican Republic, Egypt, Eritrea, Ghana, India, Kenya, Nepal, Nigeria, Pakistan, Somalia, South Africa, Sri Lanka, Syria, Tunisia, Venezuela and Zambia.
Passports must generally be valid for at least six months from the date of arrival and contain at least one blank page. Because lists are periodically updated, verify your own nationality's status on the official portal before travel.
Nationality categories
- CARICOM nationals: visa-free entry, longer permitted stay and exemption from the entry fee.
- Visa-exempt nationals: visa-free for tourism/family visits up to 90 days, but must pay the online entry fee before arrival.
- Visa-required nationals: must obtain an e-tourist card (tourism) or e-visa (tourist/business/transit) in advance.
