The core documents are a valid passport, proof of onward travel, accommodation and funds; each permit route adds its own supporting paperwork.
Important
Every traveller needs a passport valid for the intended stay, a return or onward ticket, confirmed accommodation details and evidence of sufficient funds. The Travel Authorisation application also requires a photo/selfie, trip and airline booking details, accommodation confirmation and a payment card.
Permit routes add documents. Work applicants supply employer-completed forms and Ministry of Employment approval; students supply an acceptance letter and proof of financial support; family applicants supply proof of the sponsor's citizenship, marriage and birth certificates, a medical certificate and a security bond; residence applicants supply banker's confirmation and a bank guarantee.
