Requirements
- IGI approval of family reunification obtained by the resident sponsor (for non-EU sponsors)
- Proof of the family relationship (marriage certificate / birth certificates), recognised in Romania
- Proof the sponsor has adequate accommodation and means of subsistence
- Travel medical insurance with minimum coverage of EUR 30,000
- Criminal record certificate
- Valid passport/travel document

How to apply
For non-EU sponsors: the sponsor applies to IGI in Romania for approval of the family reunification.
The family member then applies for the D/VF long-stay visa at a Romanian consulate, submitting the IGI approval (or, for family of Romanian citizens, the marriage/kinship documents directly).
After arrival, the family member applies to IGI for the residence permit for family reunification.
