Fees for a Romania visa application
Romania's national visa fees vary by route (120 EUR for most; 300 EUR for family reunification); the residence permit costs a 120 EUR consular tax plus 265 RON for the card.
Important
Romania charges its own national fees for long-stay (Type D) visas and for the residence permit issued after arrival; these are separate from any short-stay Schengen charges. Visa fees are paid in the country where the application is made, and the amount depends on the route.
For the residence permit stage, IGI's published fee schedule sets a consular tax plus the cost of the physical permit card. Amounts below are taken directly from official IGI and Romanian Ministry of Foreign Affairs pages and IGI's fee document.
National long-stay (Type D) visa fees
- Employment purposes: 120 EUR
- Studies: 120 EUR
- Medical treatment: 120 EUR
- Family reunification: 300 EUR
Residence permit fees (IGI schedule)
The consular tax is paid to the State Treasury/CEC; the 265 RON card fee is paid via CEC Bank counters or SELFPAY machines into the account shown on IGI's fee sheet.
