Polish Temporary Residence Permit for Scientific Research (Researcher)

Who it's for

• Researchers coming to Poland to carry out scientific research or development work
• Academics holding at least a master's-level qualification enabling doctoral study
• Researchers moving to Poland from another EU member state under the researchers' directive

Requirements

• A hosting agreement for scientific research or development work with a research organisation based in Poland and approved by the minister for internal affairs
• A professional title corresponding in Poland to at least a master's degree (allowing application for a doctorate)
• The organisation's written statement on covering return costs where required
• Health insurance or confirmation that treatment costs are covered
• Proof of sufficient funds to cover the stay and return

How to apply

The researcher applies to the voivode competent for their place of residence, submitting the hosting agreement and the required financial, insurance and qualification documents. The receiving organisation must be on the approved list published in the official journal of the minister for internal affairs.

The permit is granted for the time necessary to complete the purpose of the stay, from over three months up to three years, with the possibility of subsequent permits.
