Fees for a Poland visa and residence application
Poland's national D-visa consular fee and the stamp duty plus residence card fees for in-country residence permits.
Important
There are two distinct fee streams in Poland's national process. The national (D-type) visa carries a consular fee paid to the Polish consulate abroad. Residence permits applied for inside Poland carry a stamp duty (opłata skarbowa) for granting the permit, plus a separate fee for issuing the physical residence card.
The stamp duty and the residence card fee are paid into separate bank accounts, and the stamp duty is normally paid in advance when the application is submitted. If it is not paid, the voivode will set a deadline (7 to 14 days) to pay it, failing which the application is returned.
National (D-type) visa fee
- The national visa application fee is EUR 135, effective from 1 June 2024 (set by the Minister of Foreign Affairs)
- Some consulates outside the EU add a local equivalent or surcharge, so confirm the exact amount and payable currency with your consulate
Residence permit stamp duty (paid in-country)
- Temporary residence permit (standard): 340 PLN
- Temporary residence and work permit, for an employee: 440 PLN
- The overall stamp duty range across permit types is 340 PLN to 640 PLN, with permanent residence and long-term EU resident permits at the top of that range
Residence card issuance fee
- A separate fee of 100 PLN is charged for issuing the physical residence card once a permit is granted
- This is paid into a different account from the stamp duty
