Polish Temporary Residence and Work Permit (Single Permit)

Who it's for

• Third-country nationals with a job offer from a Polish employer who intend to stay and work for more than three months
• Workers already in Poland who want to consolidate residence and work rights in a single permit
• People whose main purpose of stay in Poland is employment

Requirements

• A concrete job offer / employment relationship with a Polish employer
• Stable and regular income sufficient to support yourself and any dependants
• Health insurance covering treatment in Poland
• A place of residence in Poland (address)
• Where required, a favourable labour-market opinion from the local starosta (unless the occupation is exempt)

What you can do

• Live in Poland for the duration of the permit
• Work for the employer and in the position named in the permit
• Apply to amend the permit if your employer or role changes
• Build up lawful residence that can count towards long-term or permanent residence

How to apply

The application is submitted in person to the voivode competent for the applicant's place of residence, no later than the last day of legal stay. Once a complete application is filed on time, the stay is considered legal until the decision becomes final.

The employer provides an attachment (Annex No. 1) confirming the terms of employment, salary and working conditions. The voivode assesses whether the salary is not lower than that of comparable local workers and whether a labour-market test is required.

After a positive decision, the foreigner is issued a residence card annotated with access to the labour market for the named employer.
