Polish Permanent Residence Permit

Who it's for

• Foreigners of Polish origin and holders of the Pole's Card intending to settle permanently
• Spouses of Polish citizens (after the qualifying marriage and residence conditions)
• Children of permanent residents or of Polish citizens, and certain long-settled or protected persons

Requirements

• A qualifying tie to Poland (Polish origin, Pole's Card, marriage to a Polish citizen, or family relationship as defined by law)
• Where applicable, the required prior period of lawful, continuous residence in Poland
• A valid travel document
• Documents evidencing the ground for the permit (e.g. Pole's Card, civil-status or origin documents)
• Completed application and biometrics

What you can do

• Reside in Poland indefinitely
• Work without a separate work permit
• Access services on a settled basis and use the status towards naturalisation
• Sponsor family members under family-reunification rules

How to apply

The application is filed with the voivode competent for the applicant's place of residence, supported by documents proving the qualifying ground (such as the Pole's Card, evidence of Polish origin, or a marriage certificate) and, where relevant, the required period of prior residence.

Once granted, the status is indefinite; the residence card proving it is renewed periodically. A Pole's Card holder must still obtain this permit to settle - the card alone does not confer settlement or entry rights.
