How to apply

The application is filed with the voivode competent for the applicant's place of residence, evidencing the five years of continuous lawful residence, stable income, health insurance and the required knowledge of Polish.

The authority checks that periods of residence qualify and that absences did not break continuity. Once granted, the status is indefinite; the residence card proving it is issued for five years and renewed thereafter.
