Who it's for
- People who recently completed a degree or vocational qualification in Norway

- Skilled workers between jobs who meet the conditions (excludes religious leaders/teachers)
Requirements
- Qualify as a skilled worker (vocational training, a degree, or equivalent special qualifications)
- Currently hold a permit as a student, researcher or skilled worker and apply before it expires
- Document sufficient funds to support yourself, normally in a Norwegian bank account
- Pay the application fee

- Stay in Norway to look for skilled employment
- Work full-time or part-time in any job while searching
- Move onto a skilled-worker permit once you secure a qualifying job
How to apply
Apply online on udi.no before your current permit expires, and pay the fee.
Document your qualifications and that you have sufficient funds available.
Submit your documents to the police and, if granted, receive a permit valid for up to one year.

No. You may take full- or part-time employment while searching, but you cannot be self-employed on the job-seeker permit.
