Norwegian Residence permit for seasonal workers

Who it's for

• Workers covering the ordinary staff's holiday period
• People who need a short, time-limited stay rather than long-term settlement

Requirements

• Have a concrete job offer from a Norwegian employer for genuinely seasonal or holiday-cover work
• Pay and working conditions must match Norwegian standards for the work
• The work must fit within the permitted seasonal-work period
• Meet the general documentation and identity requirements

What you can do

• Work for the specified employer during the season
• Stay in Norway for the limited period the permit covers

How to apply

Obtain a concrete offer of seasonal work and the employer's confirmation where required.

Complete the online application on udi.no, pay the fee, and book an appointment at a Norwegian embassy/consulate (or the police if eligible to apply from Norway).

Attend the appointment with your documents; if granted, you receive your permit.
