Fees for a Norway visa application
Norway charges a national application fee that varies by route, payable in the UDI online portal; asylum and EU/EEA applications are free.
Important
Most national residence permit applications to UDI carry a processing fee, which differs by route and by whether the applicant is an adult or a child. The fee is normally paid online through the application portal when you submit, using a card or a supported mobile payment method. The fee is generally non-refundable, even if the application is refused.
Fee amounts are set in Norwegian kroner (NOK) and are reviewed by the authorities periodically, so you should always confirm the current figure on UDI's official fees page before paying.

- Work permit (adult): NOK 6,300
- Family immigration, first-time application (adult): NOK 11,900
- Study permit (adult): NOK 5,400
- Permanent residence (adult): NOK 4,000
- Citizenship application (adult): NOK 6,500
- Reduced fees generally apply to applicants under 18; asylum applications are free
