Documents for a Latvia visa application

Latvia's national routes require a completed application, a valid travel document, proof of the ground of stay, health insurance and proof of the state fee.

Important

This information is for general guidance only. Meeting the requirements does not guarantee your application will be approved.

For a long-stay (Type D) visa, applicants complete the online application and submit it with supporting documents at a Latvian consulate or authorised visa application centre. For a residence permit, the request is made to PMLP (usually preceded by an invitation or summons approved by PMLP), and once approved the permit is registered in person.

Beyond the core paperwork, the exact supporting documents depend on the ground of stay (employment, family, study, business, investment, etc.). Applicants from countries subject to prior consultation must also submit a completed questionnaire.
