Appointments and biometrics for Latvia
D-visa appointments are booked at a consulate or visa application centre; residence permits are registered in person at PMLP, where biometrics are taken.
Important
For a long-stay (Type D) visa, you attend a Latvian diplomatic or consular mission, or an authorised external visa application centre, to lodge the application. In some countries applications are accepted at partner visa application centres (for example VFS Global), while nationals of certain states must apply in person at the embassy.
For a residence permit, once the request is approved the permit must be registered in person at a PMLP (OCMA) territorial office. You book a visit, your biometric data is captured, you pay the state fee for producing the card, and the residence permit is issued as an ID-card-format document containing biometric data (this card format has been used since 2012).
