How long is the student permit valid?

It is issued for between one and three years, matched to the length of the study programme, and can be renewed for a further one to three years.

What happens after I graduate?

How to apply

Apply from abroad at a Hungarian diplomatic or consular mission, or inside Hungary through Enter Hungary or a regional directorate if you are visa-exempt. Extensions are submitted only from within Hungary through Enter Hungary.

Permits are issued for the length of the programme, and a decision is generally issued within 60 days. Approved overseas applicants receive a single-entry Type D visa to enter and collect the residence permit.
