Fees for a Hungary visa application

Hungary's national fees include a EUR 110 Type D entry visa fee and residence permit fees of HUF 39,000 in person or HUF 26,000 via Enter Hungary.

Hungary charges a procedural fee for the national Type D entry visa (paid at the diplomatic mission) and a separate administrative service fee for the residence permit. The figures below are stated on the OIF procedural fees factsheet and were the published amounts at the time of research.

Fee exemptions exist for certain categories; check the OIF exemption factsheet to see whether you qualify.

Published fees

  • Type D entry visa (for a residence permit), at the diplomatic mission: EUR 110
  • Residence permit application submitted in person in Hungary: HUF 39,000
  • Residence permit application submitted via Enter Hungary: HUF 26,000
  • Residence permit extension: HUF 26,000
  • Long-term residence document extension: HUF 20,000
  • Residence card for a third-country family member of an EEA national: HUF 15,000
  • Permanent residence card for an EEA national: HUF 1,500
  • Residence permit substitution/replacement: HUF 20,000
  • Appeal (general): HUF 47,000; appeal against residence permit refusal at a diplomatic post: EUR 160

How fees are paid

  • At diplomatic posts: in euros or the local legal tender
  • In-person in Hungary: credit card, postal cheque or bank transfer
  • Via Enter Hungary: by credit card during electronic submission
