Processing times for a Croatia visa application
Croatia sets official filing windows and lets applicants remain until a decision is enforceable, but does not publish a fixed day-count for national decisions.

Croatia's official pages describe the timing of the national long-stay process in terms of filing windows and validity rather than a guaranteed number of processing days. The temporary-stay application is decided by the competent police administration (with the Ministry of the Interior deciding long-term and permanent residence), after which the long-stay visa D is arranged through a Croatian mission.
Because the exact decision period depends on the permit category and how complete your file is, plan around the official windows below and confirm current timescales with the police administration or consulate handling your case.
Official timing rules
- The visa D application must be submitted no earlier than three months before, and no later than three months after, the start of validity of your temporary stay or stay-and-work permit
- A visa D is valid for up to six months, with an approved stay of up to 30 days, to enter Croatia
- Applicants who file for temporary stay before their short-term stay expires may remain in Croatia until the decision on their application becomes enforceable
- Temporary stay is granted for a period of up to one year (up to two years for family reunification / life partnership with a Croatian citizen)
