How to Apply for a Philippine Visa
Where and how to apply for a Philippine visa, depending on whether you apply from abroad, online, or inside the Philippines.
Important
How you apply for a Philippine visa depends on the route. Entry visas for visitors, students, workers and treaty traders are generally applied for at a Philippine embassy or consulate abroad, or online through the government e-Visa portal at evisa.gov.ph. Many short-stay tourists from eligible countries need no visa at all and simply complete the online eTravel arrival declaration.
In-country matters such as extending a stay, converting to an immigrant visa (for example the 13(a) spouse visa), and most quota and special resident visas are handled by the Bureau of Immigration (BI). Retirement (SRRV) applications go through the Philippine Retirement Authority, and investor (SIRV) applications are endorsed by the Board of Investments before the BI issues the visa.
Always start from the official channel for your route, prepare the required clearances and documents in advance, and confirm the latest steps and fees before you pay.
