Extending Your Stay and the eTravel System

How visitors can extend an authorised stay in the Philippines, and the online arrival declaration all travellers complete.

Temporary visitors in the Philippines, including visa-free entrants and 9(a) visa holders, can apply to extend their authorised stay through the Bureau of Immigration rather than leaving and re-entering. Extensions are granted in increments and are subject to BI conditions and fees, so it is important to apply before the current stay expires.

Separately, travellers arriving in the Philippines complete the online eTravel declaration, a government arrival and health/travel registration system, typically within 72 hours before arrival. It is not a visa, but it is part of the standard entry process alongside any visa or visa-free entitlement.

Confirm the current maximum cumulative stay, extension increments and eTravel requirements with the Bureau of Immigration before relying on them.
