How long a Philippine visa takes to process depends on the route and where you apply.

Processing times vary widely by route. e-Visa applications are handled through the online portal and are generally quicker for single-entry than for multiple-entry cases. Embassy and consulate visitor-visa timelines depend on the post and season.

Longer-stay routes take more time because of the extra steps involved: work visas require a DOLE permit before the BI stage; investor visas need Board of Investments endorsement; and immigrant, retirement and naturalisation processes involve clearances, interviews and, for naturalisation, court proceedings.

Treat any quoted timeframe as indicative only, apply well ahead of travel or of your current status expiring, and confirm the current turnaround with the relevant authority.
