Requirements

  • Nationality of a signatory MERCOSUR state
  • Valid passport or national identity document from the country of origin
  • Criminal record certificates as required
  • Foreign-language documents translated into Spanish by a translator registered in Paraguay

What you can do

  • Reside, work and study in Paraguay
  • Obtain the cédula de identidad
  • Convert to MERCOSUR permanent residence, and later pursue naturalisation

How to apply

  • Follow the MERCOSUR temporary residence procedure published by Migraciones
  • Submit the application at least 90 days before the temporary card expires to obtain permanent residence
  • Provide translated and legalised/apostilled documents as required
