Ghanaian nationals who wish to travel to the United Kingdom must complete the official online visa application form before booking an appointment.
This page explains how to fill out the UK visa application form in Ghana, required documents, and submission procedures for 2025.

Overview

All UK visa applications from Ghana are processed through the
UK Government Visa Application Portal.
Applicants must submit their form online, pay the required fee, and schedule an appointment at a UK Visa Application Centre (VAC) in Accra or Kumasi.

Who Needs to Complete the Form?

All Ghanaian nationals applying for the following visa types must complete the online form:

Standard Visitor Visa (Tourism, Family, Business)
Student Visa (Short-term or Long-term Study)
Work Visa (Skilled Worker, Temporary Worker, or Sponsored Employment)
Transit Visa (Passing through the UK)
Family Visa or Settlement Visa (Joining a partner, parent, or child in the UK)

How to Complete the Application Form (2025)

Visit the official UK visa website:
gov.uk/apply-uk-visa.
Select your visa type and confirm that your location is “Ghana.”
Create a personal account and begin your application.
Provide accurate details including personal information, travel history, and financial status.
Upload or prepare to submit required supporting documents.
Pay the visa fee using a debit/credit card.
Book an appointment at your preferred UK Visa Application Centre (VAC).
Print your application form and payment confirmation for submission.

Visa Application Centres in Ghana

Accra (Main Centre): Movenpick Ambassador Hotel, Emporium Building, Independence Avenue.
Kumasi (Satellite Centre): Limited service location for select categories.

Documents Required with the Form

Valid passport (minimum six months validity, one blank page).
Recent passport photo (white background, 45mm x 35mm).
Proof of funds (bank statements or sponsor documents).
Accommodation details or invitation letter.
Flight booking or travel plan.
Employment or education documents (depending on visa type).
Tuberculosis (TB) test certificate (for stays over 6 months).

Fees & Payment

UK visa fees must be paid online in GBP using a debit or credit card.
Fees vary depending on the visa category:

Visitor Visa (6 months): £115
Student Visa: £490
Work Visa: £719+
Family or Settlement Visa: £1,846

Applicants may also need to pay the Immigration Health Surcharge (IHS) for stays longer than six months.

Biometrics & Appointment

Applicants must attend an in-person appointment to provide fingerprints and a digital photograph.
All supporting documents must be presented in original form or uploaded digitally through the TLScontact system.
Applicants under 18 must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian.

Processing Times

Standard processing: 15 working days from the date of appointment.
Priority service: 5 working days (extra £500).
Super Priority service: 1 working day (extra £1,000, where available).
