For any visa, you need a valid travel document whose validity period exceeds that of the visa by at least three months. Applicants must also show sufficient means of subsistence for the stay and for return or onward travel.

Acceptable proof of purpose and means can include a letter of guarantee or invitation, a real-estate lease agreement or certificate of reserved accommodation, a bank statement showing sufficient funds, or an employment contract.

For temporary residence, the Ministry of Interior requires evidence justifying the specific ground (for example an employment offer, enrolment at an education institution, or proof of family relationship), proof of secured accommodation, and evidence of sufficient means of subsistence.
