How to apply for a Marshall Islands visa
The general process for obtaining an RMI visa, from choosing the right visa class to submitting the application to the Division of Immigration.
Important
Most non-exempt travellers must obtain the correct visa before entering the Republic of the Marshall Islands. The Division of Immigration's Enrollment Unit oversees the main visa classes and processes applications, which are normally lodged prior to entry.
Applicants complete the Division's visa entry/application form (the site references a 2025 revised visa application form) and provide the checklist documents that apply to their visa class. Sponsored routes such as employment and business visas require supporting paperwork from the employer or host in the Marshall Islands.
General steps
- Identify the correct visa class (V-1 visitor, B-1 business, E-1 employment, S-1 student, G-1 general/dependant, T-1 transit, R-1 residence).
- Complete the Division of Immigration visa entry/application form.
- Gather the checklist documents for your visa class, including a passport valid for at least 6 months.
- Submit the application to the Division of Immigration (Majuro or Ebeye office) before travelling, unless you are eligible for visa on arrival or a visa waiver.
- Wait for approval before departure; carriers require an approved visa or uplift/approval notice before boarding.
