Documents you need for a Kazakhstan visa

Most applications require a valid passport, a completed application, a photo and category-specific supporting documents such as an invitation, work permit, enrolment letter or proof of funds.

Important

This information is for general guidance only. Meeting the requirements does not guarantee your application will be approved.

Core documents for almost every category are a passport valid for the intended stay, a completed application form, and a passport-style photograph. E-Visa applicants upload these online and, for business and medical categories, an invitation from the Kazakhstani side.

Category-specific documents vary: work visas require the employer's permit to attract foreign labour; study visas require an invitation or enrolment confirmation from the educational institution; family reunification requires proof of the relationship and of the sponsor's status in Kazakhstan; investor and business categories require evidence of the investment or company. Long-stay arrivals also complete registration and biometric (dactyloscopic) registration and obtain an IIN.
