Short-stay e-Visas are generally issued within a handful of business days after a complete online application, delivered by email. Paper visas at missions depend on the consulate's workload and any invitation checks.

Long-term Category C visas usually take longer because a supporting document must be obtained inside Kazakhstan first, for example an employer's permit to attract foreign labour, which employers report taking several weeks to secure before the visa itself is issued.
