Who needs a visa for Jamaica
How nationality and purpose of travel determine whether a visa, work permit or exemption is required.
Important
Nationals of most Commonwealth countries, the United States, Canada, Australia, New Zealand and many European countries do not require an entry visa for short visits, though the exact permitted stay varies by nationality. Nationals of many African, Middle Eastern and some Asian countries must obtain an entry visa before travelling. PICA publishes a country-by-country table of visa requirements.
Purpose matters as much as nationality: visa-free entry covers tourism and short visits, but anyone intending to work needs a work permit (or a qualifying exemption), students must have their status endorsed by PICA, and long-term settlement requires permanent residence. CARICOM nationals in certain skilled categories can move under the CARICOM free-movement regime instead of a standard work permit.
