How to apply for an Eswatini visa or permit
The routes for applying — the eVisa portal for short-stay visas, and the Ministry of Home Affairs for residence permits and citizenship.
Important
Short-stay visas (tourist, business, student and transit) can be applied for through Eswatini's official eVisa portal at evisa.gov.sz. The portal follows a simple flow: create an account, verify your email, complete the application, upload your documents and pay the fee, then download your electronic visa once approved. Applications can also be lodged at the Ministry of Home Affairs headquarters in Mbabane or at an Eswatini mission or representative office abroad.
Longer stays for work, study or to join family are handled as permits rather than entry visas. A stay of more than the permitted short-stay period requires a Temporary Residence Permit, and work permits, student passes and dependent passes are decided by a committee at the Department of Immigration Services on the merits of each case. Citizenship applications are submitted to the Ministry of Home Affairs and decided by the Citizenship Board.
