Documents you need for an Eritrean visa
A completed form B62.3, a valid passport, a compliant photo and category-specific supporting letters are the core documents.
Important
All Eritrean visa applications share a common set of documents, with additional items depending on the visa type. The passport must be valid for at least six months beyond the dates of the trip, and one recent passport-size photograph (35 x 45mm) is uploaded with the application form.
Beyond these basics, each category adds its own supporting evidence — for example an invitation letter for business, an employment letter for work, a school letter for study, and a reference in Eritrea for family visits.
Core documents
Category-specific supporting letters
- Business: invitation letter from an Eritrean company/organisation
- Employment: letter of employment from the sponsoring entity
- Student: letter from the school stating purpose and duration
- Family visit: a reference in Eritrea; birth certificate and parents' ID for minors
- Transit: air ticket itinerary and proof of a visa for the final destination
